Three Tibetan Co-operatives in Central, India.

1) MULTIPURPOSE TIBETAN CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.  (PHUNTSOKLING ODISHA)

Multipurpose Tibetan Cooperative Society Ltd, was established on 27th May 1966 with the sole objective of raising the standards of living of its members, initially totaling 2065, all of who had volunteered to form the society. As on date March 31st, 2022 the society has a total membership of 2174. Its activities and functions benefit not just the members but also the entire population of the settlement Society and local Indians.

Services Provided by the Cooperative Society:

  1. Procuring and distributing required fertilizers, seeds/saplings, herbicides, organic manure and pesticides to the farmer members.
  2. Procurement and marketing of maize.
  3. Hiring facilities of farm equipments like thresher, tractors, disc plough, to the farmers.
  4. Credit facilities in form of loan (Agri loan, Winter business loan, cattle loan, vehicle loan, housing renovation loan, surety loan ), crop insurance.
  5. Storage facilities for maize.
  6. Value addition through milling services and oil extraction services.
  7. Water purification services and supply of drinking water.
  8. Providing products in their supermarket shop in low prices than the original MRP.
  9. Money Transfer from foreign countries.
  10. Advisory and consultancy on crop management.
  11. Guest House.
  12. LPG Refilling services.
  13. Fabrication services of door and window.

2) TIBETAN REFUGEE MULTI-PURPOSE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.    (PHENDEYLING, MANIPAT)

This society was established in the year 1963. It was registered in 1965 under the Madhya Pradesh State Co-operative Society Act of ARAP/1377/1965.

At present it has 1275 share members and 9 staffers. It has 6 units which are as follows

  • Tractor and workshop section
  • STD/ISD and photo copy section
  • Handicraft section
  • Consumer shop department
  • Flour mill section
  • Organic manure section

The crops which are grown widely are paddy, maize, pulses, buck wheat, mustard and potato.

3) MULTI-PURPOSE TIBETAN CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.     (NORGEYLING, BANDARA)

This society was established in the year1972. It was registered on 7th October 1974 under the registration number BHD/RSR-109.At present, it has 937 share members and 12 staffers.

It has 7 units, they are as follows

  • Handicraft section
  • Incense section
  • Rice mill section
  • Shop section
  • Flour mill section
  • Paddy section
  • Fertilizer section

The crop which is widely grown in this settlement is paddy.
