FTCI Delhi staff attends the Annual Convention and AGM 2015 of FTF-I

IMG-20150921-WA0000Kutch 22 Sept:  Mr Tenzin Nyima, Manager Finance & Account, FTCI Delhi Export Unit attended the 15th Annual Convention and AGM 2015 of Fair Trade Forum- India, held at Kutch, Gujurat from 19th to 21st September 2015. The meeting saw participation of over 21 member organisations. The theme of this year convention is “Skilling India for Building Fair Trade World”. 

Speakers for the congregation shed light on exploring the possibilities of skill development in craft & textile sector and opportunities thereof for Fair Trade organisations. Group discussion and presentation was also held on sustainable Fair Trade business through skill building, mobilising corporates for skill building through CSR, working with Government for opportunities in skill building and branding Fair Trade – skill building of producers.
Ms Sudesh Mitra, FTF-I Secretary, read out the annual report for the year 2014-15 and Kamal Kishore, Treasurer presented the audited statement of accounts for the year 2014-15
 
During the meeting, General Body passed the resolution of extending Executive Council term to 4-year from the present 2-year.
 
An announcement of Business Development Service, aimed for capacity building, improving business, and product production was also made during the meeting. This new initiative provides a total of Rs 15 lakh Fellowship for 15 members i.e, Rs 1 lakh each for one member organisation.
 
Members had a discussion on ‘Ecommerce Portal’ where Fair Trade members can put their products on it. Members also decided to run Fair Trade fortnight in October 2015.
 
Organising of World Fair Trade Organisation AGM 2017 in India was also informed during the congregation.
FTCI Delhi Export Unit is a member of FTF-I. FTF-I is the National Network for Fair Trade in India. FTF-I is a not-for-profit organisation, registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. It is a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation- WFTO.
