Dharamsala Cooperative elects new Board of Directors on its 44th AGM

Dharamsala 21 Sept: Tibetan Handicraft Production cum Sales Cooperative Society’s 44th AGM was held on 21st Sept 2012. Following the welcome address and annual report presentation by Chairman, CEO of the society presented financial statement of the year 2011-12 and sought approval for annual budget of the year 2012-13 from share members.

Mr Kunchok Dhondup, Deputy Secretary, Cooperative Development Cell, DOH was Chief Guest of the meeting. In his address, Mr Kunchok Dhondup, said, “At the time of starting of the society, HH the Dalai Lama awarded Rs 5000 as a seed fund and prayed for society’s success. Hence, the members should work hard as per the objectives.” He further added, “The share members must be friendly among themselves and cooperate and take active participation in developmental project planned by the BoDs.”

During the function, the society’s production manager spoke on annual production of the society and award was given to weaver who produced the most number of carpets.

Subsequently, the society presented 2 share members with certificate for completion of 25 years as a member; awarded a retired share member and presented FTCI service certificate & cash amount Rs 5000 to a staff who completed 20 years service in the society.

The CEO then informed about management’s plan to distribute 25% of net profit of the year 2011-12 to the society’s labour after completion of auditing and sought final approval of distribution of net profit Rs 9.67 lakh of the year 2010-11.

Election of new BoDs of the society was then conducted. Of the 5 BoDs, 3 former BoDs were reelected.  In the afternoon share members were asked to raise questions on annual report and financial statement.
