FTCI CEO presides over Bhandara Tibetan Cooperative AGM

Bhandara 5 May;            FTCI CEO Mr. Tashi Wangdu presided over as Chairperson of the 40th Annual General Body Meeting of Bandara Norgayling Tibetan Co-operative Society, held on the morning the 5thMay 2013. As many as 130 share members of the cooperative along with camp leaders and other dignitaries were in attendance. Guest of Honor for the meeting were Settlement Officer Mrs Tsering Chonzom and Local Assembly Chairman Mr. Gyaltsen.

While speaking on the meeting, Mr. Tashi Wangdu remarked that the members should deposit their savings to co-operative and co-operative in turn should advance loan to the needy members.

Following the welcome address by Society Secretary Mr. Kalsang Gyatso, Mr Phuntsok Sonam, Society’s Chairman read out the annual report. Later Secretary sought the sanction of society’s annual budget for the year 2013-14.

In the previous year, Bandara Tibetan cooperative has made a profit of Rs. 1.5 Million, the highest ever in its history since inception. Cooperative managed to revive ration distribution center for its member, which had been shut down since 2002. Cooperative also restored carpet weaving center after closure for 3 years. The cooperative is soon establishing a noodle-manufacturing unit.

On the 4th of May, Mr Tashi Wangdu gave one-day workshop on Cooperative Development to Board of Directors and staff of Bandara cooperative society.
