Officiating GM Rakesh retires after 45 years of service

Delhi 30 Nov: Mr Rakesh Kumar, Officiating General Manager of FTCI Export Unit in Delhi retired from his service on 30th November 2014. He had completed over 45 years of service.

In 1969, when he was barely 15 years of age, he joined Tibetan Industrial Rehabilitation Society (TIRS) as Office Boy.

Although TIRS name was changed to Tibetan Refugee Self Help Handicraft (TRSHH) in the year 1980, the business activities of the organization remained unchanged.  In 2006 TRSHH name was again changed to FTCI Delhi Export Unit after FTCI had taken over TRSHH business from Home Department of Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala.

Since his appointment as office boy in TIRS, he had worked for this Organization under various capacities.

During his 45-year service, he worked as Office Boy, Dispatcher, Driver, Stock In-charge, Production In-charge cum Order Supervisor and Deputy General Manager. From 2013 to his retirement date, he had served as Officiating General Manager of FTCI Delhi Export Unit.

On 13th Nov 2014, during the farewell party in honor of Mr Rakesh, CEO Tashi Wangdu handed over a Cheque amount Rs 50,000 to him which had earlier been sanctioned by FTCI Board as special gratuity.
