Ngawang Yeshi wins Tibetan Entrepreneur Award 2014

Mainpat 25 August:  Mr Ngawang Yeshi of Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan settlement was honoured Tibetan Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2014 during inaugural function of 14th Annual Conference of Tibetan co-operatives, held at Mainpat settlement held on 25 August 2014.

He received an award certificate, award shield and a cheque of Rs 25,000/- from the Chief Guest.

After receiving the award, he thanked FTCI for the recognition. He said; “As per the guidelines of CTA on self-reliance, I started my business in 2007. Purchase of my product by Tibetan and local people are increasing every passing year.  I have a great hope that my business activity will be of inspiration and example for youth in starting new innovative activities in the settlement.”

Mr Ngawang Yeshi runs Ngawang Kollegal Roasted Chilly in Kollegal Tibetan settlement. The company produces Chilli pickle both Veg/Non Veg. His pickles are available at most of the retail shops in 5 settlements in Karnataka and Bangalore.

He started his company in 2007 and currently he employs 6 people. The annual turnover of his company is Rs 30 lakhs.

Ngawang Yeshi’s pickle is popularly known as Ngawang Sepan in Tibetan community.
