FTCI to sponsor 132 poor and needy Individuals under TMS

Bangalore 13 Nov: In an effort to lighten the burden of high medical expenditure for poor and needy Tibetan, FTCI BoDs has approved to provide financial assistance to 132 poor and needy Tibetan in India for the year 2013-14 by way of enrolling them under TMS’s individual coverage to receive cashless benefits of INR 50,000 per individual. With this new initiative, FTCI will have to pay a contribution of INR 1,25,400 towards one-year premium. The sum insured for hospital care coverage is INR 66,00,000.

This new form of support by FTCI is inspired solely by HH the Dalai Lama’s call for help and support to poor and needy individual by the cooperative society.

Tibetan Medicare System was launched by Department of Health, CTA in April 2012 with an aim to provide holistic secondary and tertiary health care (hospital care) coverage for all Tibetan living in exile.

Under this scheme, individuals can opt for hospitalization coverage of up to INR 50,000 per year by paying a contribution of INR 950.
