Visit to Ravangala and Sonada Co-operative Society by FTCI members

Sonada 8 Nov : FTCI Chairman, CEO, BoDs and head office staff visited Ravangala cooperative society on Nov 8. They arrived at the Ravangala around 10 am where they were warmly received by Settlement Officer and Cooperative Secretary Mr Tenzin Namdal.

Before the meeting with share members, they visited cooperative handicraft section, crèche section and shopping complex.

Over 110 people of the settlement attended the meeting. At the meeting, FTCI CEO Mr Tashi Wangdu spoke about FTCI, its units and the need of active cooperation from the members for the success of the society.

In his address, Mr Pema Delek, FTCI Chairman underlined about the sign of progress made by Ravangala society and called for extra effort to be made by the society for further improvement. Following the meeting, they visited the site of the cooperative where the cooperative is proposing to open a resort.

In the evening of that same day, FTCI Board members, CEO and staff arrived at Sonada society. FTCI Chairman and CEO had brief discussion with Sonada cooperative’s Chairman Tashi Dhondup and Secretary Tsering Wangdu about the condition of the society and its future plan.

On the following day, week-long training to accountants of 10 societies and FTCI units was opened.

Ravangla is one of the perfect destinations for tourists with newly built Buddha Park and Guru stupa near by and not very far from Gangtok.

Sonada co-operative society has a high prospect for business as it is close to Kalimpong and Silliguri, being two commercial hub and a tourist hot spot Darjeeling.
